How is reading time calculated?
We multiply the average time per word by your word count. English uses roughly 200 words per minute for silent reading; Turkish uses roughly 180 words per minute, since Turkish words tend to be longer due to suffixes. These are population averages — your own pace may be faster or slower.
How is speaking time different?
Speaking (reading aloud, e.g. for a presentation or video script) is slower than silent reading. We use about 130 words per minute for English and 120 for Turkish as general presentation-pace estimates.
Is my text uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything is calculated locally in your browser with JavaScript. Nothing is sent to a server.
